Ruby Marie Elder

Ruby Marie (Thompson) Elder, 93, of West Sunbury, passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Ruby was born on Feb. 19, 1927, in West Sunbury, and was the daughter of the late James Franklin Thompson and the late Lilly Annis (Tinker) Thompson.

She was a member of West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of the West Sunbury VFD Auxiliary.

She retired from Mack’s Chicken Farm and later drove a bus and worked at Thompson’s Market.

Ruby is survived by two sons, Thomas C. (Ruth) Elder of West Sunbury and J. Dale (Cindy) Elder of West Sunbury; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Elder, who passed away April 19, 1994; her daughter, Anna M. Kozak; and one brother.

ELDER — Visitation for Ruby Marie (Thompson) Elder, who died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Britton of the West Sunbury United Church of the Nazarene officiating.

Burial will be in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
