Deborah S. Walter

Deborah S. Walter

Deborah S. Walter of Zelienople passed away Dec. 29, 2020.

She was born Oct. 15, 1945, in Huntington, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Janice L. and Kenneth R. Barker.

Debbie was always there for people with a smile and a joke; the quality of her jokes varied, but the quality of her smile never did.

In her time on this planet, she traveled the world before settling back down in Zelienople, which was always her hometown. Zelienople was the place she went to elementary and high school, met the love of her life, got married, returned to after living in South Africa, and returned to in the final years of her life.

She leaves behind her son, Matthew D. Walter of Bellevue; and a brother, David L. Barker of Katy, Texas.

In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight D. Walter, who passed away in 2001; her daughter, Angela L. Walter, who passed away in 2017; and her brother, K.R. Barker, who passed away in 1997.

WALTER — In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held at this time for Deborah S. Walter, who died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Debbie’s ashes will be mixed with her late husband Dwight’s ashes in a living vessel, which will be planted and grown into a tree in her son, Matthew’s yard.

Arrangements are under the direction of Boylan Funeral Home, Zelienople.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Debbie’s honor to the American Cancer Society at donate3.cancer.org.

Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
