Jacob A. Grady

Jacob A. Grady, 21, of Renfrew, Penn Township, passed away on Thursday morning, Dec. 31, 2020, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, from injuries received at a family sledding and snowmobiling event. The accident happened on Dec. 26, 2020.

Jacob has generously given the gift of life through organ donation with CORE (Center for Organ Recovery and Education). His donation will benefit many people on the organ recipient list.

Born in Pittsburgh, Feb. 1, 1999, he was the son of Alan D. and Laurie Hallock Grady.

He was a 2017 graduate of Knoch High School and attended Vo-Tech his junior and senior year, studying machine tech.

Jacob loved to take his 1978 Ford F-150 truck, that he and his dad had restored to car cruises. He loved snowmobiling, riding his jet ski, boating, dirt bikes and mountain bikes and especially enjoyed the times spent with family and friends. He was a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo.

Jacob worked with his father at Specialty Pre-Cast in Prospect.

Jacob was the beloved son of Alan and Laurie Hallock Grady; brother of Johnathan Grady of Renfrew; grandson of Sally Hallock (Mark Gerson) of Mars and Carol Grady (Bill Long) of Callery; nephew of Jack Grady (Heidi) of Deer Lakes, Steve Grady (Denise) of Butler, Dan Grady (Nicole) of Mars, Tracy Lazzo (George) of Butler and Kristi Hallock-Held (Tim) of Mars, as well as many cousins.

Grady — A private family viewing for Jacob A. Grady, who died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020, will be held at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars.

A Celebration of Jacob’s Life for family and friends will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the former Oakland School, 545 Chicora Road (Route 68) Butler.

A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Jacob’s memory to CORE, 204 Sigma Drive, RIDC Park, Pittsburgh, PA 15238 (www.core.org).
