SV schools resume in-class learning
CRANBERRY TWP — Seneca Valley School District elementary schools will return to mostly in-person learning next week.
In a letter sent to parents, the district announced students in kindergarten through sixth grade will transition to a “4-and-1” learning model beginning Feb. 8, in which all students will attend in person Monday through Thursday, with remote learning for all students Friday.
Primary students are learning in a “cohort” model, in which half of the students attend two days and the other half attend a separate two days, with one day, Friday, of full remote learning.
Students with special needs in all grades, including seventh through 12th grades, will also return to the “4-and-1” model. All students with an individualized education program, or IEP, will be included in that group.
Secondary students without special needs will remain in the cohort model, which the district said will allow them time to determine when those students can return to more in-person instruction.
