Rose E. McCall

Rose E. McCall, 87, of Butler passed away, Dec. 31, 2020, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Jan. 21, 1933, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary (Monroe) Smith.

She was a 1950 graduate of Butler High School, and had worked at Butler Savings and Trust. She was also a bookkeeper for Cletus Etzel and First Seneca Bank.

Rose married Earl F. Smith on Jan. 24, 1953, at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. Together, they had four children. After Earl’s passing, she married Albert L. McCall. He passed away May 20, 1991.

Rose was a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

She loved reading and watching the backyard birds, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed travel, playing cards and bowling.

Rose is survived by her children, Deborah (Shawn) Kriebel, Douglas (Donna) Smith, Lori (Tim) Sims and Philip (Nancy) Smith; two grandchildren, Andrew (Gina) Smith and Meredith (James) Lindsay; three great-grandchildren, Alaina Maria Smith, Lennon James Lindsay and Isabelle Rose Lindsay; one sister, Agnes Widenhofer; and four brothers, William, John, Rick and Tom Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a brother, Jim Smith; and three sisters, Mary Catherine Yamnitsky, Gertrude Moore and Helen Carter.

MCCALL — There will not be a public visitation for Rose E. McCall, who died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Tuesday at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Nicholas Argentieri will officiate.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery, Herman.

Arrangements were handled by Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
