Peggy Gloeckner

Peggy Gloeckner, 92, of Hampton and Middlesex townships, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020.

Born in Pittsburgh on Feb. 2, 1928, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Strasser) Eines.

On March 13, 1964, Peggy married John Gloeckner, and they were married for 54 wonderful years before he preceded her in death on July 27, 2018.

Peggy was a member of the Women’s Club of Southern Butler County for 45 years, a charter member of the Butler Doll Club and a member for more than 50 years at First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown.

She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to two card clubs. Peggy also enjoyed family vacations at the beach with family members and getting together with family for the holidays.

Surviving are her sons, Robert (Janet) Riemenschneider of Louisville, Ohio; William (Roseanne) Riemenschneider of Acme, Pa.; and James (LaJeanna) Gloeckner of Fruitport, Mich.; her grandchildren, Terri Jo (Joseph) Black, Bobbi Jo (Matt) Bumgardner and Larissa Gloeckner; and her great-grandchildren, Riley, Hunter, Rylee, Cagney and Colton.

GLOECKNER — A private service for Peggy Gloeckner, who died on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020, will be held for family on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, with interment in Bakerstown Cemetery.

A public memorial service will be announced at a later date in 2021, and will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, 5825 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schellhaas Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Bakerstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Peggy’s memory may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, or UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
