Michael A. Stypula
Michael A. Stypula, 93, of Butler passed away, Dec. 30, 2020, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born June 6, 1927, in Crucible, Pa., he was a son of the late Michael Stypula Sr. and Rose (Leja) Stypula.
Michael was a retired motor inspector, having worked 28 years until the plant closed at the U.S. Steel sintering plant in Saxonburg. He was the former recording secretary for the Butler County Labor Council, until 1980 for the USW Local 5768. He was a member of the Steelworker S.O.A.R. Organization, and also St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
A veteran of World War II, Michael served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Sylvia (Bee) Stypula, whom he married April 30, 1955; three daughters, Michelle Cahlin of Butler, Diane (Robert) Selfridge of Butler, and Elaine Stypula of St. Clair Shores, Mich.; five grandchildren, Rachel Miller, Steven (Wendy) Denny, Erin Larson, Anna Larson and Isabelle Larson; three great-grandchildren, Owen, Patrick and Larkin Denny; one brother, Joseph Stypula of Ohio; two sisters, Mary Abrams and Martha Yandura, both of Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
STYPULA — Friends of Michael A. Stypula, who died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, will be received from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler.Interment will be in St. Peter's Parish Cemetery.Everyone attending is required to provide and wear a facial covering, and practice social distancing.
