Ann Marie Calderone

Ann Marie Calderone, 82, of Slippery Rock passed away Dec. 30, 2020, at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born April 28, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Nellie Grine and the late Raymond Grine.

She graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1956, and was a graduate of Mason Felix Beauty Academy in Pittsburgh.

She owned and operated Ann’s Beauty Shop in Slippery Rock, for almost 50 years.

She was a member of the Zonta Club, the Slippery Rock Planning Commission, St. Peter Catholic Church and Christian Mothers in Slippery Rock, and she also taught religious education at St. Peter.

She was an avid gardener and took great joy in her many flower gardens. She loved to travel, enjoyed reading, and spending time with her four grandchildren.

Ann is survived by her husband of 64 years, Nick Calderone of Slippery Rock; two daughters, Cathy Barlow of Cincinnati, and Christine Malloy of Atlanta; four grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Roll of Mercer; a brother, David Grine, of Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nellie Grine and Raymond Grine; and her sister, Jane Hemmerlin.

CALDERONE — There will be no public visitation for Ann Marie Calderone, who died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with a celebration of life service to follow in the spring.

Arrangements were made by Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
