George C. Baptiste

George C. Baptiste, 91, of Butler, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, while under the care of Butler Memorial Hospital. George was recently resided at Concordia at Cabot.

Born June 17, 1929, in Butler, he was the son of the late McKinley Baptiste and Mary Kuhn Baptiste.

He was employed by Wise Machine as a weld shop foreman, and retired after many years of service.

George was a member of St. Michael RC Church. He was a lifetime member of RC Men’s Club in Herman.

He enjoyed golf and fishing, but he especially enjoyed camping at Cook Forest for more than 30 years. He loved to listen to country music on his porch.

George will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Martha McMillin Baptiste, whom he married on May 10, 1952; his children, David M. (Marlene Uram) Baptiste of Beverly Hills, Fla., Terry W. (Debby) Baptiste of Butler, Wendy J. (David) Miller of Butler; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Perry Baptiste of Chicora; his seven grandchildren; his seven great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Claire Mitch of Herman and Dorothy (Ronald) Cypher of Alabama.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his sons, Bruce and Tim Baptiste; five brothers, Joseph, Wilbert, Robert, Norman and Lawrence Baptiste; and three sisters, Anna Marie Baptiste, Mary Catherine Curry and Charlotte Ann Smith.

BAPTISTE — In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation or services for George C. Baptiste, who died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020.

George will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in George’s honor to Disabled American Veterans (DAV), VA Regional Office, 1000 Liberty Ave., Room 1606, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
