Frank J. Molnar
Frank J. Molnar, 86, of Butler, formerly of Conneaut Lake and Chicora, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Frank was born July 29, 1934, in Punxsutawney, and was a son of the late Frank and Anna (Hritz) Molnar.
On June 30, 1956, Frank married Barbara Compagnola. She preceded him in death on Dec. 9, 2017.
Frank was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas in Conneaut Lake, and was a former member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
Frank retired from Swanson Corp. of Erie in 2000 after 20 years of service as a mechanical engineer.
A graduate of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Catholic School in Punxsutawney, he furthered his education by earning his associate degree in drafting and design technology from Penn State DuBois.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Army Reserve, having been honorably discharged on March 11, 1963.Frank enjoyed golfing, but had a passion for tinkering in his garage. From the time he was a young boy, he had a desire and curiosity for taking items apart and putting them back together.Frank is survived by a son, Dr. John C. Molnar of Butler; two granddaughters, Kayla Marie and Natalie Jo Molnar; and two sisters, Lillian Sulick of Sharon and Marie Schreckengost (Eugene) of Punxsutawney.In addition to his parents, and his wife of 61 years, Barbara, Frank was preceded in death by a son, Joseph; and a sister, Delores.MOLNAR — Family and friends of Frank J. CDC guidelines will be followed.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, with the Rev.
