Lawrence Luther Shoop, 85, of Harmony, formerly of Butler, passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020, at the Grove at Harmony in Harmony.

Born March 16, 1935, in Butler, he was the beloved son of the late Lawrence T. and Hazel Knauff Shoop.

Luther spent most of his life working in his parents' store, Shoop & Shoop in Cooperstown. The Shoops retired from the store and moved to Mount Chestnut. Luther spent a lot of his retirement at the PARC Center and Workshop in Butler.

Luther was a member of Glade Run Presbyterian Church in Cooperstown; Middlesex Fire Department, Middlesex Township; and the Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church.

Surviving is a brother, Warren Shoop of Plymouth, Mass.; two nephews, Craig Shoop and Scott Muhleman; and two nieces, Kathy Muhleman Luther and Joy Shoop Cheatham.

Luther was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Hazel Mae Muhleman of Coshocton, Ohio.
