Donald Richard Wilson

Donald Richard Wilson, 89, of Worthington, passed away on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at the Orchards of Saxonburg.

He was born Nov. 23, 1931, in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County, and was the son of the late Bruce L. and Lois (Noble) Wilson.

Donald was a self-employed farmer, and retired from Moonlight Mushrooms as a mechanic.

He was a 1950 graduate of Kittanning High School and served in the U.S. Army.

Donald was a member of the Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church.

He was a member of the FFA and Allegheny Valley Chapter of PA Farmer's.

He loved to travel to Wyoming and fish for trout. He also loved to visit with family and friends. Donald restored a 1951 Chevy COE truck to perfection.

He and Shirley enjoyed square dancing and hosted several barn dances for family and friends. He read voraciously after he was no longer able to be in the fields and the barn.

Donald married Shirley Brewer, the love of his life in July of 1954. In 2019, they celebrated their 65th anniversary with family and friends. Shirley passed away at the end of March, and he missed her everyday.

Donald is survived by his daughters, N. Luann (Robert) Stull, Lesa D. Boyd, and Lara S. (Doug) Shields; two brothers, James F. (Marie) Wilson and Joseph C. (Kathleen) Wilson; three grandsons, Ryan (Samantha) Boyd, Ethan Boyd and James Stull; three stepgrandchildren Michael (Nicole) Stull, Jeffrey (Jill) Stull and Julie (Kevin) Thompson; one great- granddaughter, Ella Rose; and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Laura Anderson Wilson; his wife, Shirley (Brewer) Wilson; his sisters, Janet Wilson, who passed away at age 4, and Eleanor Blaney.

WILSON — The family of Donald Richard Wilson, who died Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, will hold a private service at Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.Interment will be in Slate Lick Cemetery.For more information please visit www.snydercrissman.com.
