Elaine Quick
Elaine Quick, 81, of Cabot passed away Dec. 16, 2020, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
Born April 29, 1939, in Westmoreland County, she was the eldest child of the late of Samuel Heasley and Eunice Moorhead Heasley.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Ursinus College, and a master’s degree from West Chester University, and continued her education throughout her life and career.
A lifelong educator, she spent the majority of her professional years in the public schools of Perkiomen Valley, Pa., and Morris Knolls, N.J., teaching history and reading.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church throughout her adult life, actively lending her time and talents to congregations in Bryn Mawr, Pa., Boonton, N.J., and Sarver, as an elder, and as a Sunday school teacher and director. She was fortunate to go on Christian mission trips to Kenya and Nairobi in 1993.
She loved to sing, and was a former member of the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia. Her favorite song was Whitney Houston’s “The Greatest Love of All.”
Elaine and her husband loved to travel, and enjoyed numerous international trips during their retirement.
The only thing she loved more than chocolate was her grandchildren.
She is survived by two brothers, Kenneth (Joyce) Heasley of Highland, Ind., and Alan (Christine) Heasley of Washington, Pa.
She is also survived by her husband of 35 years, Daniel; their five children, Susan (Jeffrey) Downes of Newark, Del., Sandra (William) Jerich of Saxonburg, Scott (Colleen) Quick of Trenton, N.J., Stephen (Lisa) Quick of New Providence, N.J., and Katharine Mastrantonio of Hackettstown, N.J.; nine grandchildren, Andie Downes, Eric (Nicolette) Downes, Douglas Quick, John Jerich, Julia Quick, Nicholas Mastrantonio, Kristen Jerich, Maclaine Barré-Quick and Megan Mastrantonio.
QUICK — The family will not be hosting visitation at this time for Elaine Quick, who died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020.
Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg, was entrusted with arrangements.
