Nancy Jane Toy

Nancy Jane (Milliken) Toy, 95, of Worthington, formerly of Adrian, passed peacefully on Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, at Concordia at the Orchard in Butler, where she had been a resident the past seven years. She was surrounded by family and the Orchard employees, who were like family.

She was born on March 15, 1925, in Adrian, and was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Nannie (Heginbotham) Milliken.

She lived in Adrian until she moved to Worthington in the early 1990s.

Nancy was a 1942 graduate of Kittanning High School.

She was co-owner, along with her husband, of the General Store in Adrian for 20 years, and then she worked at Moonlight Mushroom for 12 years.

Nancy was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Adrian.

She enjoyed bingo, watching “Jeopardy,” “Wheel of Fortune,” and Pirates baseball. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband.

Nancy leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Sally (John “Lenny”) Wolfe of Fenelton, and Karen (Larry) Bordick of Kittanning; her sons, Roger (Lee) Toy of Kittanning, and Philip (Nila) Toy of Cowansville; her daughter-in-law, Juanita Pratkanis of Kittanning; her grandchildren, Tim (Kris), Dan (Jennifer) and Kevin (Leigh) Wolfe, Sean (Tracy) Bordick, Jennifer (Scott) Brendlinger, Tracey (Jim) Kuntz and Christopher (Jill) Toy; 16 great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Vannie Toy, Virginia Milliken, Evelyn Hooks and Ann Kline; her niece, Judy Hooks, whom she enjoyed playing cards and shopping with; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Chester Toy, whom she married on April 15, 1944, and who died on April 25, 1997; an infant son, Jack Nolan Toy; her great-grandson, Jake Brendlinger; her brothers, James, Nelson, Frank and Neal Milliken, and Denny, Ivan and Joseph Hooks; and her sisters, Helen Milliken, Katherine Hooks and Oma Crissman.

TOY — Family and friends of Nancy Jane (Milliken) Toy, who died Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, will be received from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. Thursday at Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 832 East Brady Road, Cowansville, with her church pastor, the Rev. Matthew Vatalare, officiating.

Burial will take place in St. Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery.

All CDC and Department of Health guidelines will be enforced, with masks and facial coverings, as well as the rule of no more than 10 people in the funeral home at one time.
