Pauline Boyle
Pauline Rosalie “Polly” Boyle, 95, of Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County, went to be with the Lord Dec. 9, 2020, at Fair Winds Manor in Sarver, where she had been a resident for nine months, following complications from COVID-19.
Pauline was born Aug. 3, 1925, in Chicora. She was the daughter of Otto G. and Josephine K. Hildebrand Nyberg.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Clayton E. Boyle. Mr. Boyle passed away on June 28, 2003.
She was a 1944 graduate of Chicora High School.Polly was a faithful lifelong member of St. Patrick Parish, both in Sugarcreek and Bradys Bend, and attended Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora.Polly loved to spend hours reading or listening to music. For more than 70 years, she lived on the farm in Sugarcreek, and raised her three daughters and two sons. She enjoyed filling the farmhouse with the many antiques she collected over the years.Pauline will be remembered for being a kind and understanding listener, which endeared her to friends and family. Her resilient attitude served her well in life. Pauline will be dearly missed by all who knew her.Pauline is survived by her children, Linda (Duane) Guthrie of Zelienople, Joanne (Daniel) Johns of Fenelton, Fred Boyle of Sharpsville, Donna (Robert) Christner of Allison Park, and Larry (Alice) Boyle of Sarver; her grandchildren, Duane (Kimberly) Guthrie of Gibsonia, Todd (Veronica) Guthrie of Allison Park, Marissa Guthrie of Zelienople, Amanda (Michael) Minicucci of Allendale, N.J., Darren Johns of Cranberry Township, Emily (Brian) Saslo of Clarks Green, Aaron (Jillian) Boyle of Boise, Idaho, Clayton (Nicole) Boyle of Sharpsville, Eric Boyle of Cortland, Ohio, and Jamie Boyle of Sarver; her great-grandchildren, Madalyn, Kamron, Lydia, Samuel and Jack Guthrie, Grayson, Cole and Amelia Minicucci, Addison and Cora Saslo, and Ethan and Cameron Boyle; a sister, Shirley (Richard) Graham; a brother-in-law, Richard Garber; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, Polly was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty (Clair) Thoma and Jean Garber; a special nephew, Ronald Thoma; and her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dorothy (John) Steiner, Genevieve Boyle and Mary Jeanne (Patrick) Rodgers.BOYLE — A private funeral Mass for Pauline Rosalie “Polly” Boyle, who died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, will be celebrated Friday at Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church, Chicora, with the Rev.
