Buddy D. “Bud” Schoch, 79, of Butler passed away Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, at the Butler VA Community Living Center in Butler.

Buddy was born Sept. 14, 1941, in Oil City, and was the son of the late Dwight Schoch and Mary Louise (Scannell) Schoch.

He worked for the CIA in Athens, Greece, and later became a salesman for Luebbe Sales, retiring in 2003.Buddy enjoyed playing football and golf.He is survived by his loving spouse, Donna “Lynn” Schoch, whom he married April 19, 1975; one son, Jeffrey D. Schoch of Corona, Calif; one grandchild, Jake A. Schoch of Corona, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Deborah Schoch of Guys Mills, Pa.; one niece, Lisa Velazquez of Newville, Pa.; one great-niece, Chrissy M. Ford of Pittsburgh; and four nephews, Curt Ford of Pittsburgh, Josh Ford of Athens, Ohio, Art Hollabaugh of Cochranton, and Jason Hollabaugh of Guys Mills, Pa.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Alvin E. Schoch and Lenwood D. Schoch; along with his sister, Ada Jane Smith.SCHOCH — Friends of Buddy D. “Bud” Schoch, who died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, with Pastor Robert Edmundson officiating.Military honors will follow the funeral, and will be provided by the officers and members of the American Legion Post 117 of Butler, American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora, and VFW Post 249 of Butler.Due to COVID-19 state guidelines, visitors are required to supply and wear a facial covering, along with maintaining social distancing. Groups are limited to 25 people.Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15205.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
