Cranberry seeks SPOOKtacular pets
CRANBERRY TWP — Cranberry's spookiest pet.
That's the title pet owners can strive for during Cranberry Township's third SPOOKtacular Pet Costume Contest.
Well, almost.
In reality, the township's Facebook friends will vote on who will be crowned Cranberry's Best Pet Costume, an award open to animals of all types, shapes and sizes. The award? A basket of treats donated by local pet stores.
To enter, pet owners can like the township's Facebook page and email the page a photo of their costumed pet by Oct. 17.
There's also an alternative way of entering, by attending the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber's Barktoberfest at the township municipal building from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 1. Costumed pets can have their photo taken at the photo booth, and those photos will automatically be entered into the contest.
Eligible photos are added to an album of costumed animals on Oct. 18, and votes — that is, “likes” — will be tallied until Oct. 28. The spookiest pet will be crowned at noon Oct. 29.
