Obey rules; keep others safe

Paula Doria

Stay inside and wear a mask.

In September 2019, I was given devastating news.

I was diagnosed with stage 4, a rare pancreatic cancer. I ate correctly, went to the gym and was not overweight.

I had to change a lot of my habits. I had to stay in a lot, keep a safe distance from others and wear a mask.

My nose runs constantly. Being a very social person, I also try to stay away from family, not knowing what the future might bring. When we were growing up, our parents taught us to obey rules and listen and to love and respect all people.I'm wearing a mask not for political or religious reasons, but I want to keep myself and everyone I'm in contact with as safe as possible. A lot of young people have autoimmune diseases.I would be devastated if something happened to someone because of my carelessness or being stubborn. We all worry about our small businesses. If we listen, the numbers should go down, with everything opening back up.The health care workers need our help. They are tired of long hours and overwhelmed with all of the cases. Please care enough, wear a mask and keep yourself and everyone around you as safe as possible.Paula Doria
