Express Window Only
SAXONBURG — The South Butler Community Library, 240 W. Main St., has suspended in-person programs and visitors inside the library building through Dec. 6. All services are only available at the express window, no appointment required.
Community members can continue to borrow items, pick them up at the express window, and return them to the book drop on the side of the building. Fax, copy, print and scan services remain available at the express window. Dog licenses for 2021 will be available beginning Dec. 1.Children's story times and other online programs continue on Facebook, YouTube and via Zoom. E-resources are available 24/7 from the comfort of home.Staff members are available six days a week to assist by phone, email and Facebook messenger.Express window hours remain the same: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, and 9 a.m. to noon Fridays and Saturdays, except holidays.“I'm anticipating this will continue through the end of the year,” said Michelle Lesniak, director. “We're going to do a reevaluation Dec. 6, but it looks like it will be this way through the end of the year.”Lesniak said libraries in the county are setting their COVID-19 procedures on a library-by-library basis.
The South Butler Community Library is making this move because recent COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths are classified by the state as a substantial community spread, the highest level.Butler County leaders are requesting everyone to do their part to mitigate further infections.County schools are moving to hybrid and remote learning.For more information, call the library at 724-352-4810 or email director@southbutlerlibrary.org.
