Shapiro behind challenger Heidelbaugh
Tuesday night produced some leaders but no definitive winners of the state's non-legislative races.
As of 1 a.m. Wednesday, Department of State unofficial returns showed Republican challenger Heather Heidelbaugh, of Allegheny County, leading the race for state attorney general.
At the time, Heidelbaugh led with 2,181,014 votes over Democrat incumbent Shapiro with 1,657,718 votes.
In Butler County's unofficial election returns, Heidelbaugh has 56,591 votes to Shapiro's 18,492 votes, according to the county's unofficial election night returns.
Election results are unofficial and do not include all mail-in ballots.
As of 1 a.m. Wednesday, Department of State unofficial returns showed Republican Timothy Defoor leading in the race for state auditor general.At the time, Defoor had 1,840,087 votes over Democrat Nilofer Nina Ahmad with 1,463,101 votes.In Butler County's unofficial election returns, Defoor received 59,075 votes to Ahmad's 14,248.
As of 1 a.m. Wednesday, Department of State unofficial returns showed Republican Stacy Garrity leading in the race for state treasurer.At the time, Garrity had 2,258,741 votes to incumbent Joseph Torsella's 1,532,280 votes.In Butler County's unofficial election returns, Garrity had 59,232 votes.Torsella received 14,851 votes, according to the county's unofficial election night returns. Election results are unofficial and do not include all mail-in ballots.
