Grant available to female students
Soroptimist International of Butler County is again sponsoring a grant for young women in the Western Pennsylvania area working to educate themselves.
Applicants should be primarily financially responsible for themselves and dependents, including children, partner, parents or siblings, and demonstrate significant financial need.
“She should also already be enrolled in a post-high school vocational training program or an undergraduate degree program. Additionally, the applicant needs to be highly motivated to achieve her education and career goals,” according to a news release from the group.
Interested students can apply on line at soroptimist.org and follow the links to Live your Dream Award. Deadline to complete this grant application is Nov. 15.
The group supports the education and empowerment of women, and county Soroptimists presented two $1,000 awards in 2020.
