The Butler Area School District said an individual at Center Township Elementary School reported that they tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, and the Karns City Area School District reported than an employee at Chicora Elementary School tested positive.

The Butler Area School District has identified anybody who may have had close contact and notified them. As a precaution, the school is sanitizing the areas with which this person came into contact in addition to the cleaning procedures that are already in place on a daily basis.

The Chicora Elementary School employee was last in the building Monday. The district is working with the Pennsylvania Department of Health to identify close contacts.
