Polls open until 8 p.m.
All 89 precincts in Butler County will be open and staffed for residents who are voting at the polls this year.
All polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and coronavirus pandemic protocol will be in place.
Pens used to fill in ballots will not be reused, voting stations and other public areas will be sanitized frequently, plexiglass barriers will separate poll workers and voters, and social distancing should be maintained by all voters.
For the first time in Pennsylvania, voters did not need a reason to vote by mail. Many chose that route for various reasons, and the county Bureau of Elections director said he is doing his best to keep up with the onslaught of mail-in ballots.
Poll watchers from both the Republican and Democratic parties will be present at many precincts to work with judges of elections to ensure everyone who is eligible to vote can do so, and that those who are not are prevented from casting a ballot.
