The Butler County Historical Society will host a trivia night Oct. 23 at the Highfield Community Center, 229 Highfield Road.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the contest begins at 7 p.m. Masks are required and tickets will be limited to 100.
In addition to a general knowledge trivia contest, there will be a 50/50 raffle, basket auctions, and food and water available for purchase. Costumes are optional, but prizes will be awarded for best individual and team costumes.

The conversation and coffee will be warming up as the Cranberry Township Police Department hosts the first in a planned series of meet and greet residential events.“Badges & Brews” is scheduled from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 22 at the Haine Fire Station, 1679 Haine School Road in Cranberry Township.Sgt. William Ahlgren will meet with residents to discuss whatever is on their minds in an effort to establish stronger relationships and more open communication within the township.Citizens will have the opportunity to have conversations about the issues that matter to them, ask questions and share ideas that would benefit the community. Coffee will be provided free of charge.Social distancing will be maintained and masks are required. Participants of all ages are asked to send a photo of themselves dressed as a superhero or first responder to the department's Facebook page at facebook.com/ctvfc21. Participants must “like” the Facebook page to be entered into the contest.An album of participants will be uploaded to the page on Oct. 26. The winner will be randomly drawn on Oct. 30.The winner will receive a visit on Oct. 31 from fire company members on a fire truck. The members will deliver pizza to the winning home.
