Moonlight Dance to be held next Saturday

Oldies Dance at Ukrainian Club

It’s a marvelous night for a moon dance, according to the song. And the organizers of the upcoming Oct. 17 Moonlight Dance hope it proves true in reality.

Staged in the back parking lot of the Kings Restaurant, 191 New Castle Road, the Moonlight Dance is the idea of Marty and Kathy Tack of Golden Oldies DJ in response to COVID-19 restrictions.

Running from 8 to 10 p.m., the dance will follow a monthly car cruise in the Kings parking lot, according to Tack.

Tack used to DJ oldies dances at the Ukrainian Club in Lyndora which were canceled in the wake of the pandemic.

Marty Tack said, “All of the elderly people that attended the dances kept asking ‘When we will be allowed to dance again.’

“I came up with an idea to have a Moonlight Dance in a parking lot under the moon and parking lot lights,” he said. “It would be like the Old Neighborhood Nights we used to have years ago in a school lot with a DJ, bands and concession stands.”
