There’s a darkness in our lives now, where once you had brought light.

An emptiness, a quietness that fills us day and night.

How much we long to see your face or feel your gentle touch.

To hear you laugh and talk and sing; that voice we miss so much.

We long to share our joys with you, our hopes, our plans, our dreams.

Although it’s been but just a year, a lifetime, though, it seems.

Our lives are now forever changed, since God called you home to rest.

But we find our solace in the thought that He only takes the best.

So we go on living day to day, with your memories always near.

Until the day we get to see that face we hold so dear.

You are always on our minds and forever in your hearts.
