Gilbert “Gil” Schantz, 51, of Butler, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020.

He was born in Pittsburgh on Aug. 24, 1969, to the late Jon and Ella Schantz.

Gil enjoyed the ID Channel, camping, fishing, and anything outdoors.

He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Gilbert was the father of Shaun (Ashley) Schantz; brother of Cindy Pack; and grandfather of Zoey and Dominik. He is also survived by his soul mate, Rhonda Smith, and his closest friends, Corey, Joe and Jared.

Gil was preceded in death by his son, Chad Schantz.
