Commission helping residents replace damaged trees
The Butler Shade Tree Commission is starting a new program to help residents who lost trees to storm damage this summer.
The commission is offering $200 toward the replacement of trees listed on the street tree inventory that was conducted last year and had not been identified as hazardous trees, said Diane Smith, commission chairwoman.
“The Shade Tree Commission wants to help residents replant lost street trees,” Smith said.
Residents wishing for more information about the program or to determine if a tree qualifies should call the Butler Shade Tree.
The hotline is 724-209-8899.
