Route 8 trooper crash

A state police cruiser was hit on the driver's side by a sedan Friday afternoon as the trooper was racing down Route 8 to respond to another crash in Cabot, according to state police at the scene. No injuries were reported. According to police, the trooper was headed south with sirens and lights on when another vehicle failed to yield. The other vehicle hit the police cruiser on the driver's side rear door, sending both vehicles into the right lane on the south side of the road. Police declined to share more information, noting the crash is under investigation.
