Sept. 4 — Todd A. Reed, 40, of Butler was charged with having heroin stemming from a police call last month for a man laying in a yard at a home on the 500 block of Negley Avenue. Police said when they found Reed shortly after 11:35 a.m. Aug. 30, they learned that Cranberry Township police had an arrest warrant for him.He was arrested on the warrant and searched. The search, according to court documents, turned up eight stamp bags of suspected heroin. Reed is charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance.Reed later that day was arraigned on charges in the Cranberry Township case. Those charges include two felony counts of trespass and a misdemeanor count of indecent exposure. He is free on $10,000 bail.

Monday — Brandon E. Loughman, 30, and Sarah K. Gamble, 28, both of Butler were charged in connection with a shoplifting March incident at the Butler Commons' Walmart. Police accused them of failing to scan 17 grocery items, valued at $110.80, at a self check-out register April 11.Loughman also was found with suspected drugs and other contraband. He and Gamble were both charged with retail theft and conspiracy to commit retail theft. Additionally, Loughman is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.Monday — Police charged Mark C. Moses, 30, of Butler with causing a disturbance last month at the Butler Memorial Hospital emergency room. He allegedly showed “aggressive behavior and yelled” at medical staff members while waiting to be treated.Moses is charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.6:57 p.m. Saturday — Ian F. Zang, 19, was arrested on charges he pulled his 19-year-old girlfriend out of the Rite-Aid store at Point Plaza and stole her telephone during a domestic dispute. The woman was not injured.Zang was arraigned in stalking, theft, receiving stolen property, simple assault and harassment. He was placed in Butler County Prison on $25,000 bond following arraignment.3:24 a.m. Saturday — William P. Kraft, 48, of Butler was arrested after a domestic disputer with his girlfriend at Green Acre Apartments. The woman suffered minor injuries.Kraft was arraigned on three counts of simple assault and charges of harassment and criminal, and later released on $25,000 bail.

9:53 a.m. Sunday — A New Jersey man lost control of his car and crashed into a ditch on Interstate 79 in Worth Township. Nihal Sivakumar, 21, and his passenger, Sakshi Roongta, 20, both of East New Brunswick were not injured. The car had to be towed.Police cited Sivakumar for driving too fast for conditions.10:12 a.m. Saturday — A van driven by Mary J. Double, 58, of Butler struck a car on Route 422 east at the Mitchell Hill Road on-ramp in Summit Township, and did not stop. The name of the other driver was not immediately available. No one was injured.6:21 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Alim M. Kapitonov, 21, of Pittsburgh struck a tree along North Shore Drive and Park Road in Worth Township. Neither he nor his passenger, a 17-year-old Carnegie, Allegheny County girl, was injured. The car had to be towed.5:30 p.m. Thursday — One person was injured when a pickup truck driven by Dakota B. Hughes, 20, of Eau Claire rear-ended a sport utility vehicle on Route 38 just north of Garner Street in Eau Claire. The other driver, Shardae M. Irwin, 28, of Petrolia, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with an unknown injuries. Her SUV had to be towed.12:07 p.m. Sept. 8 — An unknown hit-and-run driver backed up into a motorcycle at a stop sign on Route 422 west near Route 68 in Summit Township. The driver fled the scene west on Route 422. The motorcyclist, Robert S. Shook, 63, of Butler, suffered an apparent minor injury. He was wearing a helmet.Sept. 2 — An unknown hit-and-run driver struck a circuit board and post on Moran Road in Clearfield Township. The property owner notified police after he noticed the circuit board, owned by CenturyLink, was struck either Sept. 1 or 2.

9:50 p.m. Aug. 11 — Ronald E. Belles, 35, of Worthington, was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance after he crashed his vehicle into the Sugarcreek Ambulance Service building in Sugarcreek Township. He allegedly fled, but later was identified.Belles was arraigned on a felony charge of DUI as well as misdemeanor charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and hit-and-run.Additionally, he was cited for several traffic violations, including driving without a license, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, disregarding traffic lanes and reckless driving. He was placed in Armstrong County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond following arraignment.
