Sept. 2 — Chassidie A. Eichenauer, 37, of Center Township, was charged with kicking her son in the right knee last month on the 300 block of North Elm Street. The incident occurred Aug. 17, according to a ChildLine report from the Butler County Children & Youth Services agency. She is charged with simple assault.

Tuesday — Richard J. Williams Jr., 42, of Butler, was charged with having narcotics and other contraband stemming from an incident around 11:15 p.m. Aug. 13 in the rear parking lot of the Days Inn on Route 8 south. He is charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.2:08 a.m. Sunday — Merle C. Maharg, 62, of Butler, allegedly was caught with marijuana and other drug contraband during an investigation of a suspicious activity in front of the Super 8 motel on Route 8 south. He is charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.5:43 p.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Kerry L. Lynn, 40, of Butler, struck another vehicle at Chesapeake Street and Penn Avenue. Stephanie O'Malley, 25, of Mars, was the other driver. No one was injured, but both vehicles had to be towed.Police cited Lynn for a stop-sign violation and driving with an expired inspection sticker.11:23 a.m. Sept. 3 — No one was injured when a vehicle driven by Deanna Graziano, 48, of Evans City, rear-ended another vehicle on the 500 block of Route 68. Zachary Rabold, 35, of Mars was the other driver.Graziano's vehicle had to be towed. Police cited her for driving too fast for conditions.11:43 p.m. Aug. 10 — Paul W. Benson, 28, of Butler, was allegedly found with a crack pipe, marijuana pipe and several syringes after police were called for a disturbance on Ferguson Avenue. The disturbance, police said, turned out to be an argument between Benson and his mother.

Aug. 21 — Police charged a Lawrence County man with drunken driving in connection with a June traffic stop in Center Township. Kevin S. Stengel, 34, of Volant, was stopped around 1:20 a.m. June 27 on Route 8 at Muddy Creek Drive.Stengel eventually was taken for a breath test, which indicated his blood-alcohol level was 0.112 percent, according to court documents. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.In addition to DUI, he is charged with failing to use low beams, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.Aug. 24 — Police obtained an arrest warrant for Andrew D. Steele, 66, of Chicora, on charges he illegally attempted to buy a .22-caliber rifle in March at a Chicora store. He is accused of providing false information on a required background check form March 14 when he tried to buy the gun at Chicora Sporting Goods on North Main Street.Police said he was denied the purchase after his information was entered into the Pennsylvania Instant Check system.Steele is charged with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor.Aug. 18 — Bryan R. Jae, 22, of Tarentum, Allegheny County, was charged with providing false information on a background check form that was required Nov. 11, 2019, when he tried to buy a firearm at the Rural King store at Clearview Mall in Center Township.Jae is charged with unsworn falsification to authorities.

7:03 a.m. Aug. 29 — A car driven by Taylor L. Baptiste, 25, of Cabot, struck a guardrail on Route 28 north between the exit 14 on- and off-ramps in Fawn Township, Allegheny County. Baptiste, who was not injured, was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.12:18 p.m. Aug. 27 — No one was injured when a car struck an embankment on Route 28 south just east of Cadogan Slate Lick Road in North Buffalo Township. The car, driven by Jacqueline Ellis-Redish, 41, of Imperial, Allegheny County, had to be towed.Police cited Ellis-Redish for driving without a license. The South Buffalo Township and East Franklin volunteer fire departments assisted at the scene.
