Roadwork to begin Friday in Cranberry

North Boundary Road will be closed Friday through Monday while work to replace the northbound Interstate 79 bridge passing over the road will begin.

While the southbound bridge was replaced in 2019, this round of roadwork will begin the process of replacing the bridge taking motorists north over North Boundary Road. During this road closure, beams to support the new bridge will be set.

The North Boundary Road bridge stretches from mile marker 80.5 to 81.4, and motorists are told to expect delays during their travel time on I-79 north.

PennDOT recommends drivers detour by driving east on North Boundary Road, turning right on Marshall Road, right on Rowan Road, right on Route 19 north and right again onto North Boundary.
