8:37 p.m. Sunday — Alex P. Bauer, 23, of Summit Township, allegedly assaulted an ex-girlfriend at her Greenview Gardens apartment. The victim told police that he threw her around multiple times and hit her in the face, according to court documents.Police said she also recounted that Bauer placed his foot on the back of her neck. The victim had visible injuries to her face and neck. Bauer apparently was gone when officers got there. Police obtained an arrest warrant for him on a charge of simple assault.10:57 p.m. Aug. 19 — Richard W. Dusheck, 63, of Butler, allegedly was caught with two plastic baggies, one containing suspected crack cocaine and the other suspected marijuana at West Penn Street and Wagner Avenue.He is charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and a small amount of marijuana.9:59 p.m. Aug. 15 — Jessica N. Hogan, 30, of Butler Township, and Brandy L. Lane, 33, of Butler, were found with suspected drugs and other contraband in a room at the Springhill Suites hotel on East Jefferson Street. Also in the room, police said, was Hogan's 10-year-old daughter.Police said they came upon the defendants while conducting an investigation into drug activity. Officers subsequently obtained a search warrant for the room, where they found 21 stamp bags of suspected heroin and a loose brown, powdery substance also believed to be heroin, according to court documents.The search, police noted, also turned up three baggies of suspected crack cocaine, 21 empty stamp bags and a crack pipe.Hogan and Lane are both charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. Additionally, Hogan is charged with a misdemeanor count of child endangerment.

2:36 p.m. Saturday — A motorcyclist was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital with leg and arm injuries suffered in a crash with a sport utility vehicle at Route 8 and Belmont Road. Daniel Geruschat, 61, of Butler, was thrown off his cycle after the collision.The wreck happened when the other driver, Ann M. Williamson, 43, of Transfer, Mercer County, turned in front of the bike, according to a police report. Williamson was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with possible injuries to her ankle and shoulder.Police cited Williamson for making an improper left turn.

4:25 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Gary J. Seybert, 67, of Harrisville, struck a downed tree that was blocking Beaver Dam Road just south of Hall Road in Clay Township. Neither Seybert nor his passenger was injured, but his car had to be towed.Friday — Jessica L. Cole, 39, of Parker, lost control of her car and struck a mailbox along Route 268 in Parker Township. She was not injured, and her car sustained only minor damage.7:30 p.m. Thursday — A Beaver County teenager was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance following a traffic stop for equipment violations at Franklin Street and Highland Avenue in Slippery Rock. Charges are pending lab results, and police did not release the name of the suspect, a 19-year-old Hookstown man.7:09 a.m. Thursday — A 16-year-old Prospect boy was uninjured when the car he was driving crashed and rolled over in Franklin Township. The boy, whose name police did not release, traveled off Route 528 just south of McIntire Lane, hit an embankment, overturned onto its roof and slid about 50 feet before ending on the side of the road.The car had to be towed. The Prospect Volunteer Fire Company and Butler Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.Aug. 24 — Police reported they are investigating a case of theft and fraud at Petroleum Technical Services in Franklin Township. The owner of the business told police a fraudulent transaction of $41,491.14 occurred in April. No other information was provided in a police report.2 a.m. Aug. 23 — Two people were hurt in a one-vehicle wreck in northern Butler County. Police said the driver, Crystal D. Seybert, 43, of Emlenton, and her passenger, Samuel R. Summers, 56, of Pittsburgh, both suffered apparent minor injuries, but they refused hospital treatment.Seybert was driving north on Kohlmeyer Road when a deer appeared on the road in front of her car, causing her to swerve. She lost control of the vehicle and struck a ditch. The car had to be towed. Police cited her for driving too fast for conditions.11:03 a.m. Aug. 21 — No one was injured when a pickup driven by Joshua J. Weaver, 39, of Evans City, rear-ended a sport utility vehicle on Route 68 just east of Ash Avenue in Forward Township. Eleanor K. Cumberledge, 80, of Zelienople, was the other driver. Police cited Weaver for driving too closely to another vehicle.7:31 p.m. Aug. 19 — A 17-year-old Gibsonia boy lost control of a car and struck a guardrail on the 700 block of Route 528 in Forward Township. Police did not release the name of the driver, who was not injured. The car sustained heavy damage to the driver's side doors and had to be towed.11:09 a.m. Aug. 19 — An Armstrong County woman was hurt when she lost control of her car and struck an embankment on Route 356 in Summit Township. The car overturned but landed on its wheels. Samantha L. Brown, 29, of Apollo, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.The car was towed. The Herman Volunteer Fire Company and East Butler Ambulance assisted at the scene.1:30 a.m. Aug. 16 — Xavier A. Gibbs, 20, of New Castle, was arrested for drunken driving after a traffic stop at Kiester and Harmony roads in Slippery Rock Township. He is charged with driving under the influence, DUI by a minor, a stop sign violation and careless driving.9:04 a.m. Aug. 15 — An Ohio man suffered serious injuries when the vehicle he was driving struck an embankment on Route 108 just east of Crocker Road in Slippery Rock Township. Stephen Z. Koscelansky, 30, of Petersburg, was taken to an unspecified hospital. He was cited for two license violations and driving an unregistered vehicle.The Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Team assisted at the scene.9:49 a.m. Aug. 13 — Robert Doyle, 33, of Pittsburgh, did not stop after the Mack truck he was driving struck an overhead bridge on Anderson Road in Clinton Township. The Canadian National Railway owns the bridgePolice cited Doyle for hit-and-run, failing to immediately notify police of an accident and disobeying traffic control devices.
