Route 422 crash sends 1 person to hospital

According to Butler Township firefighters, one person driving a dark-colored, Toyota SUV struck a disabled, dark-colored Jeep Grand Cherokee, which had been sitting on the side of the road on Wednesday, Aug 26, 2020.

A crash on Route 422 eastbound sent one person to the hospital Wednesday night.

Around 7 p.m., Butler County 911 dispatchers sent Butler city and township emergency units to a vehicle accident on Route 422 eastbound near the Mercer Road overpass.

According to Butler Township firefighters, one person driving a dark-colored, Toyota SUV struck a disabled, dark-colored Jeep Grand Cherokee, which had been sitting on the side of the road.

The driver of the Toyota SUV was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash, and no one was in the disabled Jeep at the time of the crash.

Butler Township Police were investigating the crash.

Firefighters blocked traffic on Route 422 eastbound for about 30 to 45 minutes while the scene was cleared. The road was open before 8 p.m.
