Mars Area Public Library reopens, lists new hours

Mars Area Public Library is open again with health and safety protocols in place.

Its new hours are:

- 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays

- 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays

- 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

When books are returned, they remain in quarantine for at least three days. Toys in the children's room have been temporarily removed to decrease the potential spread of germs.

Library staff asks visitors to wear masks, maintain social distancing and follow signs. All books should be returned via the exterior book drop at this time.

Contactless book pick-up is still available. Members can log into their library accounts, place books on hold and wait for a staff member to call and schedule a pickup time.

Similarly, visitors can go to MarsAreaLibrary.org to order book bundles of children's books. Library staff will call when bundles are available to be picked up.

To help maintain a clean environment, public computer use is limited.

Computer appointments can be made in person or by calling 724-625-9048 up to three days in advance. Walk-ins are welcome based on availability. Library staff thoroughly clean the computers and desks between each use.
