During this time of hardship, Butler Catholic School is receiving some much needed help from a mysterious source.

An anonymous donor has offered to match donations to BCS up to $20,000 from now until Aug. 28.

In a release, BCS stated that preparing for different scenarios caused by the coronavirus pandemic has strained its budget.

BCS director of development Kathy Dudley said BCS typically raises anywhere from $100,000 to $150,000 each year, but has only raised a third of the $20,000 needed for the match.

Because of the state's restrictions on large gatherings, BCS has been unable to hold any fundraisers as it has in the past.

Donations to BCS can be mailed or droppped off at 515 E. Locust St. in Butler, or made through the school's website.

Dudley said BCS is not in a dire situation or in danger of closing, rather donations now would be a way to help BCS get a jump start on this year's budget.

The deadline for donations, Aug. 28, coincides with the Feast of St. Augustine, a celebration of his life and service to the church.
