Harry A. “Pete” Brain

Harry A. “Pete” Brain, 88, of Harmony, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020, while under the care of Magnolia Place in Saxonburg.

Born April 3, 1932, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Harry Brain and Bertha Clouse Brain.

Pete was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Middle Lancaster. He was also a member of the Harmony Masonic Lodge 429, the Zelienople American Legion Post 474, the Valley of New Castle Consistory, the Harmony Moose Lodge 957, Pittsburgh's Syria Shriners and the VFW.

In his free time, he was an avid golfer, fisherman, hunter, gardener and he pickled his own vegetables.

Pete is survived by his stepchildren, Larry E. (Julia) Scheidemantle of Fredonia, Janet E. (Gary) Galat of Portersville, Sharon L. (John) Lutz of Ellwood City, and Jeff P. (Joanie) Wright of Portersville; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Robert A. (Connie) Brain of Sun City, Ariz., and Thomas E. (Edith) Brain of Harmony; his sister, Carol J. (Timothy) Bowser of Tucson, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Brandt Brain, who passed away on March 20, 2020; and two sisters, Dolores “Dolly” Underwood and Margaret “Peggy” Peterson.

BRAIN — The family of Harry A. “Pete” Brain, who died Sunday, July 12, 2020, will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at noon Wednesday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. Timothy Dawes officiating.Due to public health concerns, the family requests that attendees please wear a facial covering.He will be laid to rest at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.If desired, memorial contributions in Pete's honor may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, PA 16505.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
