11:47 a.m. Aug. 2 — Rachel M. Detrick, 26, allegedly provided false information to police seeking a trespass suspect at her apartment on the 200 block of West Wayne Street. Police said the man was previously barred from the apartment.Detrick repeatedly denied the suspect was there, according to court documents, but police later found him at the apartment. She is charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution.

11:59 a.m. Saturday — A motorcyclist was injured when he struck another cycle on the northbound side of the Picklegate Crossing. Bradley Reddington, 63, of Kittanning was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unspecified injuries. The other biker, Robert Patrick III, 62, of New Bethlehem, Clarion County, was apparently not injured.

Thursday — Paul A. Hartle, 35, of Boyers was charged with submitting false information earlier this year on an application for a state license to carry firearms. The application April 9 was rejected by the Pennsylvania Instant Check System, which is run by the state police.Hartle is charged with unsworn falsification to authorities.

Monday — Police reported they are investigating two cases of identity theft. A 24-year-old Muddy Creek Township woman, in one case, reported that a credit card account was opened in her name in another state.In the other case, a 53-year-old Winfield Township man told police that a Verizon Wireless account was opened in his name in August 2019.3:54 p.m. Friday — No one was injured when a sport utility vehicle driven by Charles W. Jordan, 33, of Butler rear-ended a mixer truck on Route 8 just east of Mercer Road in Center Township. Kenneth S. Harruff, 41, of Slippery Rock was the other driver.The SUV had to be towed. Police cited Jordan for following too closely to another vehicle and careless driving.5:32 a.m. Friday — A medical helicopter flew one person to a Pittsburgh hospital with suspected serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.Gordon J. Yoder, 20, of Portersville, one of the drivers, was taken by STAT MedEvac to UPMC Presbyterian. The other driver, James M. Russell, 58, of Bentleyville, Washington County, suffered apparent minor injuries.Police said the wreck happened when Yoder's SUV, which was traveling south, struck the guardrail and crossed over all travel lanes and the grassy median. The vehicle overturned in the median and continued to slide on the road across the northbound lanes, where it was struck by Russell's vehicle that was traveling north.Both vehicles had to be towed. Police cited Yoder for careless driving.8:53 p.m. Aug. 4 — Two people were hurt when their SUV hit a guardrail and struck several small trees along Route 19 in Muddy Creek Township. The driver, Chad W. Garland, 46, of New Castle, was ejected from the vehicle.Garland and his passenger, Sherri L. Taylor, 44, of New Castle, both suffered apparent serious injuries, according to a police report. Both were taken by Harmony EMS to UPMC Passavant hospital in Cranberry Township.Police said Garland was traveling north on Route 19 just north of Hohmanns Lane when the vehicle went off the road, striking the guardrail and sliding on it for several feet before crossing over it and hitting the trees.Taylor was wearing her seat belt. Police said they did not know if Garland was wearing his seat belt.4:18 p.m. Aug. 4 — A Lawrence County woman was hurt when she lost control of her SUV, struck an embankment and rolled onto its roof on I-79 north in Muddy Creek Township. Danielle S. Lombardo, 37, of New Castle was taken to UPMC Jameson hospital in New Castle with apparent minor injuries.Police cited Lombardo for driving too fast for conditions.Aug. 3 — Leroy H. Goepfert, 40, of Jefferson Township was arraigned on charges that he took $5,400 from a Center Township woman in March 2019 as a deposit for a construction project at her home, but failed to complete the construction.The woman told police that she attempted to contact Goepfert multiple times but he never responded, according to court documents.Police said they spoke to the defendant by telephone. He acknowledged that he took the deposit but that he did not complete the work, documents said.Goepfert was arraigned on felony charges of deceptive or fraudulent business practices and theft by deception. He was released on his own recognizance following arraignment.2:11 p.m. Aug. 2 — An SUV driven by Erma E. Bell, 77, of Tionesta, Forest County, struck a pickup truck at Route 58 and Route 268 in Hovey Township, Armstrong County. Vicki L. Haun, 48, of Sandy Lake, Mercer County, was the other driver. No one was injured. Police cited Bell for a stop sign violation.9:55 p.m. Aug. 1 — No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash in a construction zone on Route 422 just east of East Butler Road in Summit Township. Police cited the driver, Drew A. Venesky, 24, of Cabot for a lane violation.
