Matthew Lee Smith
Matthew Lee Smith, 62, of Hagerstown, Md., formerly of Butler, passed away Monday, July 6, 2020, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born Jan. 19, 1958, in Bethlehem, Pa., and was the son of the late Joseph W. Smith and the late Shirley Mae Wimmer Smith.
Matthew worked as a system analyst for Highmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield for 11 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force as a system specialist.
Matthew loved golfing, high performance cars and playing the violin.
He was Protestant by faith.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Laura E. Lawson of Hagerstown, Md.; one brother, Mark (Robin) Treider of York, Pa.; one sister, Sandy Jesteadt of East Butler; three nephews, Michael (Erica) Treider of York, Pa., Andrew Jesteadt of Prospect, and Jordan Lawson of Seattle, Wash.; and one niece, Hannah Lawson of Seattle, Wash.
SMITH — Friends of Matthew Lee Smith, who died Monday, July 6, 2020, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert S.
