Passenger killed in city crash identified

James Ross, 56, of Lyndora was killed Saturday afternoon when the pickup truck he was riding in slammed into a concrete abutment in Lyndora. The driver, whose name was not immediately released, was flown to an unspecified hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities have identified the passenger killed Saturday afternoon when the pickup truck he was riding in slammed into a concrete abutment in Lyndora.

James Ross, 56, of Lyndora was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy determined he died of fractures to the head, neck and trunk, said Butler County Deputy Coroner Larry Barr.

The driver, whose name was not immediately released, was flown to an unspecified hospital with serious injuries in the crash that happened shortly after 1 p.m. on Main Street at Hansen Avenue

Butler Township police are continuing their investigation.
