[naviga:h3]NAMI restarts support groups [/naviga:h3]
NAMI Butler County is restarting two of its support groups and adding a new meeting location. The groups — supporting individuals living with a loved one’s mental illness — were suspended in March because of COVID-19.
Effective immediately, the groups will begin meeting in Butler, Evans City and Saxonburg.
NAMI support group meetings are at the following times and locations:
n 5:30 p.m. on the third Monday of every month: St. John’s United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City
n 6 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month; Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road
n 6 p.m. on the last Tuesday of every month; Abba house, 320 Main St., Saxonburg.
The NAMI support group previously at Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople has been discontinued until further notice.

[naviga:h3]Dem group to hold virtual pride event[/naviga:h3]
As Pride Month comes to a close in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, the group PA Dems is holding a virtual celebration online Tuesday. The event also will include a roundtable discussion with Democratic house members and nominees.
Included in that list is local 12th District Democratic nominee Dan Smith Jr., along with state Rep. Brian Sims, D-182nd, state Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta, D-181st, and Jessica Benham, who is running for House District 36.

[naviga:h3]July 19 Hortert reunion canceled [/naviga:h3]
The 53rd Hortert family reunion scheduled for July 19 at Butler Township Park, located at 468 S. Duffy Road, has been canceled.
Organizers said the family will try to meet again in 2021.
[naviga:h3]Street cleaning begins in Butler[/naviga:h3]
Parking will be restricted on a number of streets in Butler on Tuesday for street cleaning, according to the city streets department.
Parking will be restricted from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Summit, St. Mary and Cecelia streets.
