In loving memory of the first anniversary of my brother Gary Zanicky

You gave no one a last farewell,

Nor even said goodbye

You were gone before I knew it

And only God knows why.

A million times I miss you,

A million times I have cried,

If love alone could have saved you,

You never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly, in death I love you still,

In my heart you hold a place no one else can fill.

It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn’t go alone

For part of me went with you, the day God took you home.

We will meet again some day, I know in a better place.

I thank God He made you my brother while you were here on Earth.
