We Got This Butler County pride, support
Earlier this week, we launched #WeGotThisButlerCounty in an effort to empower communities and show support for frontline workers.
The ribbon campaign is raising money for Butler Health System Foundation to buy personal protective equipment.
Within hours of launching our campaign, the public responded with resounding voices, ordering nearly 700 ribbons in just three days - with more coming in daily.
And those ribbons are popping up in neighborhoods far and wide — tied to trees, affixed to fences and adorning doors.
We’re not surprised.
None of us should be bewildered by Butler County’s rising up to support its amazing, dedicated healthcare heroes.
Butler County is about far more than its farms, manufacturing and tourism.
Far more than its historic churches, patriotic displays and outdoor adventures.
Far more than its top-notch healthcare system, award-winning colleges and universities and cutting-edge technology.
No. What sets Butler County apart is its people.
It’s the pride seen in communities across Western Pennsylvania.
It’s the belief that neighbors are more than just “the people next door.” They are friends and family.
It’s the conviction that when the chips are down, we are all in this together. No one is an island unto themselves in our tiny corner of middle America.
It’s why moms and dads already strapped for cash can find a little more to give a food bank to feed those in need.
It’s why sons and daughters volunteer to pick up groceries for local shut-ins and veterans.
It’s why families, friends and co-workers find unique ways to celebrate milestones in the midst of a pandemic.
It’s why we call Butler County home.
And its exactly why #WeGotThisButlerCounty.
