The Butler VA Health Care System's virtual Town Hall Meeting for April has been canceled.
The meeting was scheduled to be held Wednesday to discuss the coronavirus. In the original announcement, the Butler VA's Leadership Team was expected to update people on the facility's current status.
The virtual town hall would also have allowed participants to share their concerns and ask the team any questions they had.
Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., will be hosting a series of tele-town halls across Pennsylvania to discuss the coronavirus pandemic and what is being done in Congress to mitigate its public health and economic effects.The first town hall will be held Wednesday with communities in Western and Southwestern Pennsylvania.Those interested can participate via:: https://casey.senate.gov/teletownhall
Free, home-delivered meals for county residents aged 60 and older who do not have access to food are available through the Butler County Area Agency on Aging.Five frozen heart-healthy, low-sodium meals can be delivered to county seniors once per week.Seniors in need of meals can call the Area Agency on Aging at 724-282-3008 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, to be screened for eligibility.
UPMC Health Plan announced Monday it will waive cost-sharing for in-network, inpatient COVID-19 treatment.Starting immediately and extending through June 15, the health insurance network will waive deductibles, co-insurance and co-pays for COVID-19 treatment for members in fully insured group, ACA, Medicare Advantage and opted-in, self-insured employer plans.The insurance company had already waived cost-sharing for COVID-19 testing.UPMC has also waived these out-of-pocket costs for telemedicine visits and will allow members to refill prescription medications early by retail, mail and specialty pharmacies, both through June 15.
