Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Slippery Rock University is offering all of its summer courses online.

The courses are available not just to SRU students but also students at another college or university, qualified high school students or community members.

The more than 550 courses are offered during SRU's five summer sessions scheduled: May 13 to 29, six credits; June 1 to 26, seven credits; June 29 to July 27, seven credits; June 1 to July 27, 12 credits; and May 13 to July 31, 12 credits. More information about registering is available online at www.sru.edu/summer or contacting the SRU Office of Academic Records at 724.738.2010.

Current SRU students can register for summer classes April 13 to 24 while non-SRU students may register beginning April 27.

Grove City College officials are extending the deadline for applications for the 2020-21 year beyond the original date of March 20 through the summer due to the coronavirus pandemic. The deadline to submit deposits for the next school year also has been moved from May 1 to June 1.Communication between college officials and parents and students can continue through live chat, virtual campus tours and connection through the ZeeMee social media platform.The latest updates are available at gcc.edu/visit.

Marty's Lunch Break, a fundraiser for Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society, which is held at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, is canceled for April 9.The lunch is usually served on the second Tuesday of every month at the church, 123 E. Diamond St.

The polling place for Mercer Township residents has been changed to the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department.The change was announced Wednesday by the Butler County Board of Elections. The fire hall, which is also the polling site for Harrisville Borough, is located at 313 E. Mercer St., Harrisville.The change was made because the township building does not have indoor plumbing.

The Butler County board of commissioners has announced that its April 18 meeting has been canceled.
