Disturbance at pizza shop leads to arrest

Jeremy Greiner

Butler police arrested a man they say caused a disturbance at a pizza shop Monday evening.

Officers were called shortly before 6 p.m. for a man, with a pit bull, “out of control” at Penn Street Pizza. They found Jeremy K. Greiner, 40, of Butler and his dog, who was not on a leash.

Greiner is accused of threatening to harm the owner and employees at the shop. He also allegedly went behind the counter.

Police said Greiner appeared so intoxicated that they decided to take him into custody, fearing for his safety and the safety of others.

But when officers tried to handcuff him, Greiner allegedly resisted, prompting police to take him to the ground. After Greiner was cuffed, police said, he repeatedly called officers derogatory names.

District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned him later that night on charges of resisting arrest, trespass and public drunkenness.

He was later placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu $5,000 bond. Online court records did not indicate if he has an attorney.
