PITTSBURGH – Emma Pospisil and Kylee Lewandowski weren't about to let this lead slip away.

The North Catholic duo combined to score 18 points in the second quarter as the Trojanettes built a big lead and cruised to a 61-44 win over Southmoreland in the WPIAL Class 4A girls basketball championship game Friday night at Petersen Events Center.

Pospisil scored 10 points in the frame; Lewandowski added eight as North Catholic turned a slim two-point lead into a 42-26 advantage at the half.

Pospisil scored a game-high 18 points and Lewandowski, a Butler native, added 14 points and 12 rebounds for North Catholic (24-1).

The Trojanettes did their second-quarter damage with leading scored Tess Myers on the bench in foul trouble. Myers finished with 13 after scoring nine in the first quarter.
