New center will treat depression patients
Compassion Mental Health Services is opening a state-of-the-art Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Center in New Castle on Thursday.
The center is an option for patients who suffer from depression and obsessive compulsive disorder whose symptoms persist despite prior treatment attempts with antidepressant medications.
The TMS therapy is approved by the FDA for treatment of depression without surgery or medication. The center will offer three FDA-approved groundbreaking technologies, including Neurostar repetitive TMS, Brainsway Deep TMS and Magventure TMS.
“The new center will bring hope and additional effective treatments for depression, a serious and life-threatening condition that affects millions of people. We are committed to making a difference in the lives of patients living with treatment resistant depression,” said Dr. Santiago Almanzar, founder and CEO.
