Truck flips in 2-vehicle crash in Penn; no one was injured
PENN TWP — No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Brownsdale Road, but an involved truck flipped on its roof.
State police on scene said the two vehicles were traveling opposite directions on the road and collided on their driver sides. The two vehicles were a Pontiac Aztek and a Ford F-150 pick-up truck. Police on scene said the Aztek's driver was at fault.
The collision sent the truck airborne and onto its roof, while the car remained on its wheels.
No one was injured in the wreck, and no one was transferred from the scene in ambulances, according to Steve Bicehouse, Evans City Volunteer Fire Department chief. Bicehouse's department, Adams Area Volunteer Fire Department and the Callery Volunteer Fire Department all responded.
The wreck occurred just west of the road's intersection with Critchlow School Road. The flipped truck required the road to be closed to traffic for over an hour. The wreck occurred at about 1:15 p.m. Thursday.
The flipped truck held two passengers in addition to the driver, but everyone was out of both vehicles when first responders arrived.
State troopers on scene said they suspected the accident would've been far worse if the people involved were not wearing seatbelts. Everyone in both vehicles wore the safety equipment.
Police did not immediately release the name of the involved parties, and passengers on scene declined to comment.
