Judge to decide if county will bus in jurors
A judge indicated he would likely select a jury comprised of county residents for the upcoming murder trial of a Butler County man whose lawyer argued he couldn't get a fair jury in the county.
Keith Jordan Lambing's lawyer, Charles Nedz, argued Friday that his client couldn't get a fair trial in the county because of the amount of media coverage devoted to Lambing in the years since 4-year-old Bentley Thomas Miller's death was ruled a homicide.
But Assistant District Attorney Terri Schultz, prosecuting the case, countered that while there was heavy news media coverage in 2017, last year and this year have served as a “cooling off” period.
Judge Timothy McCune said he would make a decision later.
Lambing is accused of raping Miller in 2017, resulting in his death.
